At approximately 13:45pm whilst patrolling on Matthews Meyiwa Road, Pro Secure SRU noticed a male running suspiciously into Bishop Road.
At the same time the SRU officer noticed members of the public calling for assistance around the corner on Silver Avenue.
A short foot chase pursued at the corner of 7th Avenue and suspect was apprehended, it was discovered that he was in possession
2 x Cell phones and over one thousand rand in cash.
Pro Secure SRU immediately made contact with members of the public who pointed the officer towards the victim of robbery.
The victim confirmed it was her cellphone in the suspect’s possession and the suspect was handed over to Berea SAPS for further investigation where a case of robbery had been opened.
