On the 20th of October, at approximately 07:00, the DELTA 2 SRU was driving through the CBD when they were flagged down by a civilian who informed the team that he was just robbed of his cell phone. After gathering information, the team went off in search of the suspect. A few minutes later, the suspect was arrested after trying to flee, when he saw the SRU. He handed over 3 cell phones and a knife that he used to commit the crimes.
“Losing a cell phone is an absolute NIGHTMARE in this day and age, as we generally have our entire lives on them, well done to the SRU who made the arrest,” said Vaughan Pillay of Pro Secure.
The exhibits and the suspect was handed over to the Point SAPS.
